About Dr. Wendy (she/her)

I have been a naturopathic primary care physician and a licensed acupuncturist for 10+ years and have shifted my practice to focus on mental health as I find this to be the root of many conditions and an important place to start. Within my ND training, I received additional training in mental health therapy and am currently finishing up another clinical mental health therapy program through Antioch University that is social justice focused, including a certificate in trauma counseling. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and identify as a lesbian.

My practice is largely mental health therapy, but as a naturopathic doctor, I take a holistic view of my patients and assess all body systems to treat anything that could be contributing. Beyond therapy, treatment can include nutrition and lifestyle recommendations as well as herbal formulations/nutrients/medications if it seems appropriate or is requested. I can prescribe and manage most medications, including hormones for gender-affirming care. I cannot prescribe or manage controlled medications like benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and opiates.

I have a background in metta and vipassana meditation, biofeedback, and craniosacral therapy.

What I love about my job is connecting with my patients, and together, we find a path of least resistance to a life that feels fulfilling, joyful, and balanced.

I bring a warm, safe, and non-judgmental presence with plenty of humor and kind regard.

I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

In my free time, I enjoy any activity to do with water (kayaking, swimming, breathing in ocean air), forest bathing, creative arts, gardening, singing in a local choir, and enjoying quality time with my son.

Working on a problem reduces the fear of it. It is hard to fear a problem when you are making progress on it - even if progress is imperfect and slow. ACTION relieves anxiety! - James Clear
